Mohair wool care

Mohair is a unique, soft and fluffy fiber that requires careful care. With proper care, it remains luxurious, lightweight and durable.

Daily care

After wearing, it is best to air out mohair garments rather than wash them. Hang them in an open space or outdoors to remove odors and refresh the fabric. Frequent washing is not necessary, as the fiber naturally “renews” itself during airing.

Stain and odor removal

If stains occur, first remove them gently on the spot – do not use harsh detergents or bleach. If necessary, opt for dry cleaning . Odors can be neutralized with a mild fabric freshener.

Washing

When a deeper cleaning is required, it is recommended to:

  • Hand wash in cool water (up to 30°C) with a detergent for wool,
  • Or a gentle wool program in the washing machine (600-800 rpm).

Do not soak for long periods, do not wring or twist the garment, do not use bleach or fabric softeners. It is very important to use only fabric detergents designed for wool. Mohair wool is sensitive to stretching and heat, so be careful with all movements.

Drying and shape retention

After washing, gently squeeze out excess water with a towel. Dry flat , away from sunlight or heat sources. Do not tumble dry. If the product has lost its shape slightly, you can revive it with steam or gently iron it at a low temperature, avoiding direct contact with the fabric.

Fluff care

To maintain the fluffy texture, mohair can be brushed gently with a clothes brush or a special wool comb from time to time. Remove any bubbles that appear with your hands - this is a natural phenomenon and not a defect.

Storage

Keep mohair garments folded to prevent stretching. Avoid hanging or storing in damp or sunny areas.

With proper care, mohair products will remain soft, fluffy and as cozy as the first day for many years.
